Smiths of Cheshire - Brewed Awakening sits conveniently by Wilmslow Station on Station Rd, making it a natural stop for commuters and locals looking for a solid coffee break or a casual bite. It’s a café that thrives on a relaxed, friendly vibe, where conversations start easily over well-crafted drinks and thoughtfully prepared food.

The coffee selection covers the usual essentials like espresso, flat white, and cappuccino, plus some interesting twists like an elixir latte for those wanting a slightly different pick-me-up. Freshly made and served with a smile, the coffee here feels tailored for people who know their brews and appreciate quality without any fuss.

Breakfast sandwiches are a standout – freshly toasted rolls filled with carefully cooked sausages and bacon that have clearly been prepared with attention to detail rather than rushed out to meet the morning crush. This focus on quality extends beyond the coffee counter, making it a solid choice for early risers grabbing a quick but satisfying start to the day.

Outdoor seating is part of the charm, providing a spot to relax and watch the steady flow of travelers on their way. The café naturally draws in locals, station travelers, and even hospitality professionals who recognize and appreciate genuine care in service. It’s a place where you might end up chatting with the owners or receiving an unexpected treat while waiting — which says a lot about the welcoming atmosphere.

One notable and somewhat unique offering is the availability of cooking banana (plantain), which adds a local twist and variety for those looking for something different within Wilmslow’s café scene.

Smiths of Cheshire is at its best early in the day when the station buzz is just starting up, perfect for anyone needing a quick, quality coffee and a hearty snack before heading off. The overall feel is unpretentious and warm, suited for people who appreciate good ingredients, friendly faces, and a place that fits neatly into everyday routines.

Blown away by quality of breakfast sandwich I just picked up from Smiths at Wilmslow Station, delicious lightly toasted roll with really high quality sausages and bacon cooked to perfection. Oh and great freshly made coffee served with a friendly smile. Will be back often!

that rice you made when you came to Istanbul? I still think about it all the time it was so delicious. I remember saying 'God bless the hands that cooked this food,' and honestly, that feeling hasn't changed. Your cooking is just something special. Hope you're having a wonderful holiday season! Just rocked up and took a seat outside of opening hours, only to meet Andy himself. Fab hospitality and I'm not even a paying customer. Think he took pity on me sat waiting outside and very very kindly gave me a banana and a mini bounty. What a gem. I dont often come to wilmslow but from now on I'll be coming here first. Didn't you know they do the best bacon and egg sarnies???

An absolute gem of a restaurant, which we discovered while waiting for our connection to Shrewsbury. Wonderful soup and sandwiches made to unusual and distinctive recipes. Superb all round service and ambience.

The coffee is fabulous, and the service warm and friendly. The owners always bring a smile to my face when I stagger in for an early morning coffee ahead of a long train journey. Coffee from Smiths is the best way to start the day. One day, I'll stop for a one of their famous bacon butties

Thank you Dee and Andy for your warm welcome, especially, as you were closing up for the day too. Your chilli and relish samples were amazing. We loved the overnight oats, croissants amd folded bread thingy, ha. Everything was delicious. I'm now back in Perth Australia, however, when I'm back in Cheshire I will definitely visit your amazing cafe again. Your hospitality and kindness blew me away. Much love Samantha

So, there I am in unfamiliar territory seemly stuck at a train station and I see what looks like a micro brewery. With plantains outside?? Okkkk...I walk in and it is not a pub. It is micro cafe. And warm. No, hot. Quite hot if the truth be told. 'Hi there!' was the greeting, 'how can I help?' followed with the biggest smile I've seen from any server I dare say. It was really hot in this shop, was my initial thought. We got talking, and then, it no longer felt hot. I could have stayed for hours. Before I tell you about my food experience, here are a few things I observed as I waited for my order. A cookie to a woman whose birthday she found out it was (her companion bought a latte) 'I'm fine thanks' Lady D: Yes, you are! The compliment made her day especially as it was her birthday. She left with a free cookie, birthday wishes and the biggest smile on her face. Someone walked back to tell her her chilli jam went perfectly with his sandwich as she'd recommended, made a much older gentleman blush and smile as she offered him a date. A rather hard forehead slap when she thought she'd gotten an order wrong, Andy's jibe, playful karate chops, loving eyrolls and a couple more give aways. Another forehead slap when she found out the person she'd just served was someone regularly on TV she didn't recognise as she doesn't watch TV! Yes, as it says on their wall, I do think their lives would make a great TV show. During our chat it came up, we're exactly the same mix in race, and I got the best okra soup with assorted meat stew and fufu. Authentic down to the big meat (if you know, you know). She has the boxes marked to suit the ask.and knefe for dessert. What?! All was absolutely gorgeous and exactly what my soul needed. And the quirky quotes all over the place? A** Shame I don't live here. She'd be my new best friend. I hope Wilmslow knows what they have in this little gem of a place and the hilarous couple who run it. People who are genuinely willing and happy to help their community. Locals, this is worth getting to if you haven't yet. I hope this business does well. They deserve it. I know I'd definitely have no smiles to give if I get up at 4 every morning to take such orders as a half shot decaf skinny latte and bacon sandwich. All the best of luck, guys x #localbusiness #smallbusiness #supportsmallbusiness #supportlocal #luckyWilmslow #hiddengem #naija #plantain #knefe #delicious #tasty
